LAUNCH OF ‘TRICO STAR’
On 11th May 2009 the second MPSV – Y117, ‘Trico Star’ was launched at the Malpe Shipyard. The Vessel was designed by Vik–Sandvik, a world leading independent marine consultants Design Company situated in Fitjar, Norway. The vessel with engines and equipment has been built in accordance with current IMO and SOLAS regulations and to Det Norske Veritas class.
The vessel is similar to Y 116 ‘Trico Sabre’ in terms of basic dimensions of the vessel, with a few additional systems. The vessel is classed for FiFi 1.The fire Fighter 1 (FiFi 1) class notification is given to vessels intended for fighting fires on offshore and onshore structures, as well as associated rescue operations. The vessel has been built for early stage firefighting and rescue operations close to structure on Fire.
