TEBMA DELIVERS TRICO SABRE FROM ITS STATE-OF-THE-ART

SHIPBUILDING FACILITY AT MALPE

With an investment of over Rs. 290 Crores on the infrastructure alone, the shipbuilding complex at Malpe is a state of the art shipbuilding facility in the country. Malpe is one amongst the 15 - 16 yards in Europe, Korea and China having similar high technology and exclusively manufacturing Offshore Vessels for servicing the oil and gas sector.

TEBMA successfully delivered its first MPSV Vessel “TRICO SABRE” on May 20, 2009 from Malpe. This is the first vessel in a series of eight vessels from Malpe yard.

Tebma has signed a contract with TRICO SUBSEA AS to design, build, launch, equip and deliver the vessel VS 470 MPSV type. The vessel has been designed to comply with the requirements of the offshore oil industry for such vessels.

A dual redundant Dynamic Positioning system has been integrated into the vessel as part of IAS which helps operations to be carried out with the Vessel in the DP mode and positioned close up to fixed installations. The DP system is a controlling computer that feeds the thrusters and propellers with accurate signals of power required to hold the position of the vessel or moving it in a controlled fashion from one position to another in any environmental weather condition and with a high level of accuracy and automatic control.

The High Precision Acoustic Positioning System installed gives high redundancy and accuracy when the vessel is operating in shallow and deep waters.

The vessel which is capable of accommodating 65 people and built for world wide operation has been designed by Vik Sandvik, one of the leading design houses in the world.
